Pose of the week - Wheel

Sanskrit: Urdhva Dhanurasana
English: Wheel (aka Backbend)
Benefits: Mood booster, Patience builder, Heart opener
Variations: Alternate lifting foot towards sky.  This pose takes a lot of strength so it is recommended for ages 5 and up.  Gymnasts will often pop right into this pose, but many others will struggle.  
How to: Lie on back with bent knees.  Place hands near ears with fingers pointing towards shoulders and lift belly towards sky.
