pose of the week - warrrior 3

Sanskrit:  Virabhadrasana III

English:  Warrior 3, Airplane

Benefits:  Improves balance and focus; activates the mind

Variations:  Move your arms like they are wings forward and backward; hop on one foot in your airplane.

How to:  Standing in mountain, step your right foot behind you and slowly lift your right leg to hip height as your torso extends and reaches forward so that your leg and torso are parallel.  Perfection is really not important here as it is difficult enough for most children to balance on one leg for an extended period.
